Zenith X Revolution ‘Cover Girl’ Goes Carbon
THE LIGHTEST LIMITED EDITION YET
PRESS RELEASE | 650 WORDS | 5 MIN READ
7th February, 2025: Zenith and Revolution have just unveiled the third installment in their CHRONOMASTER Revival A3818 collaboration, and this time, they're taking lightweight to a whole new level. After steel in 2020 and titanium in 2022, the "Cover Girl" returns in a striking, modern carbon composite case. This limited-edition release reimagines a highly sought-after El Primero reference with a technical and contemporary twist.
For those unfamiliar, the A3818, originally launched in 1971, is a rare bird among El Primero chronographs. This tonneau-shaped variant of the A385, famously worn on a Gay Frères "ladder" bracelet, earned its "Cover Girl" nickname after gracing the cover of Manfred Rössler's book, ZENITH - Swiss Watchmaking Since 1865.

Lighter Than Ever
The new CHRONOMASTER Revival A3818 Cover Girl Carbon pushes the boundaries of lightweight construction. Weighing just 60 grams (case and bracelet), it's significantly lighter than its steel (110.6g) and titanium (78.3g) predecessors. The 37mm carbon case, with its distinctive weave, offers both strength and a high-tech look. The carbon dial features the A3818's signature "shark tooth" seconds track, along with tachymeter and pulsometer scales (15 seconds and 45 seconds, respectively). High-contrast black and white subdials and luminous markers ensure excellent legibility. The El Primero 400 caliber, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, is a descendant of the world's first automatic high-frequency chronograph (1969). Beating at 36,000 VpH (5Hz), this 326-part movement offers tenth-of-a-second precision and a 50-hour power reserve.
